Jon Hay (Dip Hom, BA Hons), Classical Homeopath

I believe passionately in the power of one's own body to heal itself, and as such I view my role as a homeopath as being a facilitator rather than an active healer. I use homeopathic medicines as a trigger to unlock your body's own capacity for healing itself, because your body is far and away its own best healer.

Health is so much more than simply an absence of disease ("dis-ease"). To be truly healthy means to have your body, mind and soul in balance, and fulfilment in every part of your life. Homeopathy can help to achieve many of these things, and it often acts as a catalyst or spark for you to go on to create more of the life you want. It's also important to realise anything else you could do or change to help improve your situation, particularly if you feel there are certain factors which are acting as obstacles towards your wellbeing.

Some factors you may wish to consider include:

  • your diet
  • how much exercise you get
  • your relationships
  • your job
  • medications that you take
  • exposure to toxins
  • other stresses in your life

My background

Originally from the UK, my wife Viki and I moved to New Zealand in 2003 to set up a new and exciting life on the other side of the world. We settled in Christchurch and started a family, and during this time I gained my Diploma in Homeopathy via the Bay of Plenty College of Homeopathy (now the College of Natural Health and Homeopathy NZ). Homeopathy was something that I had been interested in since I was a teenager, seeing various family members achieve amazing results for their previously very stubborn illnesses, and I was lucky enough to be able to study and qualify in Christchurch.

I gained my Diploma in 2008 and established a successful practice in Christchurch. In 2010 my family and I moved away following the earthquakes that struck Canterbury, and spent 5 years in Australia, still practising Homeopathy, and returning to New Zealand at the beginning of 2016 to establish a practice here.
