Homeopathy and Neurological Issues
No part of the nervous system functions independently from other parts, and in humans, the effects of emotions can exert a strong influence on nervous and hormonal control of the body. Equally, alterations in the functions of the nerves can also exert a strong influence on psychological behaviour, moods and emotions.
Common nerve disorders include neuritis, herpes, polio, ganglion, epilepsy, Parkinson’s diseases, sclerosis, tetany and degenerative brain disorders such as Alzheimer's. However, other systemic diseases (such as diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, SLE, leprosy, gout, diphtheria) can also cause neurological complaints.
Neurological complaints can arise for a variety of reasons, including infection, inflammation, injury, degenerative changes, loss of blood supply, exhaustion, sleeplessness, lifestyle choices, malnutrition or exposure to extreme temperatures. However, often, the ultimate cause is not known, and in many cases there is no known cure - treatments are rather aimed at managing symptoms or slowing progress of the disease.
How can Homeopathy help?
Homeopathy treats the whole person, as opposed to a specific complaint or illness so it is ideally suited to treating the nervous system, which is inextricably linked to other systems (and symptoms) within the body. The remedy or remedies prescribed are chosen on the basis of a person's physical, emotional and mental wellbeing, and are used to stimulate the body to heal itself. What's more, there's no need to worry about troublesome side effects or the impact of taking toxic drugs over an extended period. Homeopathic remedies are completely non-toxic and usually only need to be taken for a brief period in order to have a lasting effect.
